Why Ronald created RateYourSociety
Ronald created RateYourSociety after seeing that traditional surveys could demand too much time from participants and that busy online conversations did not always reveal how people genuinely felt. His goal was to make the first act of public participation quick, familiar and easy to understand.
He designed RYS around emoji reactions that contribute to real-time sentiment dashboards. The approach turns individual feelings into a clearer emotional profile of topics spanning politics, culture, entertainment, public figures, services and everyday experiences.
Ronald’s published work also describes combining digital participation with direct community outreach in markets, stations, churches and schools. That model reflects the broader aim behind RYS: reduce barriers and make more voices visible.
Ronald launched RateYourSociety in June 2023. He continues to lead its product direction as RYS expands across communities, live conversations, polls, opinions, petitions, learning tools, interactive social games and events.
